In the process of looking for Opal in the Candela Mine in Mexico a discovery of something
new. Geodes with Chalcedony, Quartz Flowers and a coating of Hyalite Opal. They were discoverd about November of 2005. These
Geodes have beautiful small Quartz flowers that set on Chalcedony with a coating of Hyalite Opal that when place under
a shortwave light they fluoresce a bright green. These geode were display for the first time this year (2006) at the
Tucson show.
I do not have a very good shortwave light that gives the true fluorescent of the flowers.
Also I have not master the skill needed to take photos of fluorescent minerals yet but will keep trying.
Location is: Candela Mine, Candelaria Mtns. North West Chihuahua, Mexico
